Workshop Description:

Dark Rides / Dark Net, is a talk, demo, and hands-on workshop. Our goals are to reveal the invisible, increase an understanding of internet as material, and inspire critical inquiry/agency for all. The experience introduces basic internet and web history/concepts, basic privacy considerations, Tor routing, Tails OS, and dark net markets, through conversation and activity. 

Presenter's Bio

Divergent Design Lab (DDL) is Jess Parris Westbrook MFA, Paige Treebridge MFA, Filipo Sharevski PhD. DDL focuses on emerging territories, user experience, and contemporary social landscapes. Research involves cybersecurity, vulnerability, information warfare, and exploitation. DDL has been awarded funding from the National Security Agency (NSA) as well as invitations from the New Security Paradigms Workshop (NSPW).
