This festival will be held from Saturday, February 29, to Sunday, March 1, at the University of Chicago’s Media Arts, Data, and Design Center (MADD Center) on the first floor of the John Crerar Library.

John Crerar Library
5730 S. Ellis Ave., Chicago, IL 60637

All events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted. Capped events – such as workshops – will have registration pages. The Artist Reception is a private event for participants of the festival and hackathon as well as sponsors.

A Press Kit and digital Festival Catalog will be compiled after the festival concludes.

Water fountains are readily accessible on all floors of the building. If needed, the Crerar Basement Lounge also has two vending machines (beverages & snacks).

Wheelchair and scooter access are available. The building’s South door has wheelchair accessible ramps and automatic door buttons. The MADD Center’s West glass door additionally has automatic door buttons.

The building’s East elevator allows people to access the Crerar Basement Lounge. The building’s West elevators allow people to access the third floor for our Keynote talks.

Gendered restrooms are accessible on every floor. Accessible, non-gendered, single-user restrooms are available on the first floor (by the West staircase) and on the third floor (near the Keynote hall, JCL 390).

A nursing room (labeled “mother’s room”) provides a lactating parent with a private, secure space to breastfeed or express breast milk for their nursing child. The room is available on the first floor of the John Crerar Library across from the Single-User Restroom.

For Friday, the Crerar Basement Lounge will serve as a public quiet space from sensory overload. To access, go to the front of the building, then go down the stairs. For Saturday (after 1:00pm) and Sunday, the Weston Game Lab Studio on the first floor will serve as a public quiet space.

Service animals are welcome to the festival venue, and must be supervised at all times.

If you have other accessibility needs that are not mentioned here, please don’t hesitate to let us know by emailing! Our team will work with you to make sure you are feeling safe and at ease during the event. During the event, you can reach out to any of our committee members.
